I've been trying to find a way to increase the size of the avatars however one problem that occurs is sometimes a large picture will stretch it out. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds this to be a nuisance. Although there is no way at this time to fix it (believe me I've tried).
Which brings me to this...in order to keep the larger limits (200 x 200) we will need to have people re-size their avatars (if they are larger than those dimensions). If you are not sure how big a picture is, right click on it and select properties, it will show the dimensions. To re-size a picture, simply follow the link below:

The great thing about this site is that all you have to do is select the picture you want re-sized and select the maximum dimension (in this case 200). What this does is it will keep the same proportions for you so you don't have to figure out what to make the height and width so the image doesn't become stretched out in any one direction.
Once it is re-sized you will need to save the new picture and upload it back to wherever you were hosting it (assuming you were hosting it, if not you probably should - otherwise the image could be taken down at anytime by whoever is; and you'll also not be able to do this). Actually while doing this I just noticed the site also offers a link to quickly upload the picture. However if you use their upload site disregard the link they tell you to use. Use the method of right clicking and selecting properties and copy the entire url it gives you. If you are uncomfortable doing it this way you can use photobucket which is a bit more clear.
I am going to make these changes for a few members who are inactive and have these big pictures re-sized. But for active members who have large avatars, please make the change if necessary. If you plan on using a large image in the future it would be appreciated if you could make sure it is under the 200 x 200 limit or re-size it. This will help solve the avatar problem and also make for quicker loading on the site as larger pictures also take significantly longer to load.
Any questions or problems please post here
